Our ocean is our life

Problems

1. How many problems are discussed? 3

2. What are they?
- ocean pollution due to plastic
- adverse effects on the ocean ecosystem
- adverse effects on humans

3. What expression are used to introduce the problems?

- Indonesia is the second largest contributor to plastic waste in the world
- Another real problem of ocean is the effect of plastic waste on the sea that is harmful to the ecosystem of ocean
- then, the effect of plastic waste that is harmful to the food chain and humans

4. How are the problems illustrated further?
* Every year at least 12.7 million metric tons of plastic waste produced on land are dumped into the sea worldwide.

* Every year, plastic has 'killed' up to 1 million seabirds, 100,000 countless marine mammals and fish.

* Recently discovered stranded and dead whales, their stomachs filled with plastic

5. What results are discussed for each problem?

* The government must be able to reduce the amount of plastic use, especially in Indonesia
* We also have to get used to not often use plastic in our daily lives

Solution

1) How many solutions are given?
2

2) What are they ?
- socialization from government

- community/society habits that must change

3) What two different groups of people does the writer say are responsble for these solutions?

-Governments
-people/society/community

4) How would the solutions be implemented?
-socialization from the government to the public, to not using plastic

-human habits must change and awareness about environment, and people get used to not using plastic anymore

5) What three modal verb structures are used to make the suggestions?

- should, need

Now, everything in our daily lives cant be separated from the name plastic, plastic is very easy to find, and cant be separated from human life at this time, every day humans use tons of plastic, and of course there are impacts, both directly or in the future, one of the most obvious impacts for now is the pollution of the oceans because of plastic waste, including in Indonesia, Indonesia itself with the 4th largest population in the world having problems with ocean pollution due to plastic. A study (Jambeck et al., 2015) estimates that each year 4.8 to 12.7 million metric tons of plastic enters the ocean. This makes Indonesia's oceans get the second place as the largest source of plastic pollution in the world. A study conducted by Jambeck (Jenna Jambeck, professor of environmental engineering from the University of Georgia, USA) stated that Indonesia was ranked second in terms of disposal of plastic waste into the sea, with a total of 187.2 million tons. While China is in the top position with 262.9 million tons of plastic waste. Whereas the third position in the pollution of plastic waste into the sea is the Philippines of 83.4 million tons.

The impact of plastic waste in the ocean is very dangerous for marine ecosystems, plastic waste can kill marine animals. These creatures can be trapped in fishing nets or starve to death after eating particles that cannot be absorbed by their bodies, imagine that many fish die.
These are some facts from the danger of plastic waste in the ocean
* Every year, plastic has 'killed' up to 1 million seabirds, 100,000 countless marine mammals and fish.
* Many turtles on the thousand islands die from eating plastic that is thought to be jellyfish, the food they like.
* Recently discovered stranded and dead whales, their stomachs filled with plastic.
Another real problem of plastic waste is also dangerous for humans, just imagine that a lot of fish that die in the ocean can damage the food chain and then, will greatly affect human life

This problem has a solution, in my opinion the most responsible is government, the government should be able to suppress the amount of plastic, especially in Indonesia, by means of socialization, so that the Indonesian people can no longer be accustomed to using plastic, and switch to using items that can be used repeatedly we also have to get used to not using plastic and switch to items that can be used repeatedly, we can get used to it to stop getting used to using plastic, and the society must change the habits, and awarenes about environment, stop using plastic.

it's time for us to contribute so as to minimize the increase in damage, when its to reduce plastic waste in a simple way, stop using plastic, use ingredients that are not disposable, start with small things, show if we are care.

That all for my article about plastic waste, im sorry if my blog has a lot mistake, dont forget to comment
Thank you
